Why do we go on adventures? Why do we travel? Or even better, why don’t we do it? Why do so many people dream of travelling the world? Why do we make plans and then decide we will make them come to life, one day? There are always more excuses not to go. The list of reasons to stay home, stay in your job, and stay safe will always be longer then the list of reasons to leave it all behind. Yet that is exactly what I did.
When I embarked on a solo motorcycle journey from Australia to the Netherlands I didn’t exactly know why, it just felt like it was the right thing to do. The list of con’s outweighed the list of pro’s by tenfold. I left a career, friends, family, a place that I was happy and a relationship. Yet the urge to go was greater than the common sense telling me to stay. – Chantal Simons
