The North Face, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, technically innovative outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear announced this week that applications for The North Face Adventure Grant 2017 are now open.

Every year The North Face awards an explorer, or team of explorers, with a grant to assist in making their expedition dreams a reality.

Whether your passion is rock climbing, trekking, alpine climbing, extreme endurance pursuits, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, or a combination – The North Face wants to hear from you.

The North Face Adventure Grant is presented by AG Outdoor. Recent recipients in 2015 have used the grant to achieve a first descent of the Karangarua River in New Zealand’s west coast. The 2016 recipients, New Zealand residents and mountaineers Steve Skelton and Ben Dare, have just completed their main objective on expedition in Peru. They established a new route on Mt Taulliraju, in the Cordillera Blanca Mountains, climbing four days and finishing directly on the summit.

These recipients have used the support of The North Face Adventure Grant to pursue their far-reaching goals in the great outdoors, to go in search of the unknown. We want to help continue the search.

The winning recipient receives $10,000 of support including:

  • $5000 grant from The North Face
  • $3000 grant from AG Outdoor
  • $2000 worth of The North Face gear

The North Face is not only looking for elite athletes, the grant is designed to assist adventurers of all levels to step up and make their adventure aspirations a reality.
