Life’s an Adventure, an Australian walking tour operator, exemplifies excellence in ecotourism. They offer pack-free walking experiences that allow guests to explore Australia’s stunning landscapes while enjoying locally sourced cuisine, fine wines, and thoughtfully selected accommodations, blending adventure with comfort.

As a certified operator with Ecotourism Australia and a recognized Green Travel Leader, Life’s an Adventure has upheld their ECO certification for over a decade. They demonstrate responsible travel through conservation efforts, community partnerships, and climate advocacy, integrating eco-friendly practices across their tours.

A notable initiative is their Conservation Custodians program, which engages guests in preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the regions they visit. Participants engage in activities such as habitat restoration and biodiversity research, fostering a meaningful connection to the environment.

Developed in partnership with land managers, Traditional Owners, scientists, and other experts, the program provides environmental benefits while enriching the guest experience. Guides offer insights into the ecosystems and cultural significance of each area, highlighting the impact of participants’ contributions.

In 2024, the program launched its first major project in Tasmania’s Tarkine region in collaboration with the Bookend Trust and NatureTrackers. Guests can join the Claws on the Line initiative, dedicated to monitoring and protecting endangered freshwater crayfish species. By recording data through the iNaturalist platform, participants support essential research aimed at conserving these unique creatures and their habitats.

Company Director Mark Norek notes, “This program addresses the growing demand for travel experiences that give back to the environment. It’s a testament to why we’ve held Ecotourism Australia’s ECO Certification since 2011.”

Life’s an Adventure’s commitment to sustainable tourism offers travelers the opportunity to explore Australia’s natural beauty while contributing to its preservation.
