Brisbane’s First Indoor Dry Ski Slope Edges Closer

Urban Xtreme Adventures is excited to announce the location for Brisbane’s first ever indoor adventure sporting hub with integrated dry ski slopes.

Located just 10km from Brisbane’s CBD in Hendra, developers hope the Urban Adventure Hub will open in late-2017. A development application has been lodged with Brisbane City Council and the early response to the application has been very positive, even gaining support from Lord Mayor Graham Quirk.

Urban Xtreme Adventures Chief Executive Officer Lindsay Davis said she was thrilled to say Brisbane residents would soon have access to a range of adventure sports under one roof.

One of the main features of the hub will be state-of-the-art simulated ski machines which allow 30 minutes of continuous, average-speed skiing or snowboarding on revolving slopes–the same as skiing more than 20,000 vertical feet.

Mrs Davis said indoor skiing was the best way to learn to snow ski.

“Repetition leads to muscle memory, which leads to progress–none of which you’ll get outdoors anywhere in sunny Queensland,” she said.

“We want to create a place where people can experience the ultimate in family-friendly adventure sport and active entertainment.

“Community support has been phenomenal; we have already pre-sold more than 600 adventure passes through our crowd funding campaign while the hype means we now have thousands of followers on social media.”

“It is important that we continue to raise support from the local community through presale passes available on our crowd funding page:https://readyfundgo.com/project/urbanxtreme/ This support will allow us to secure the remaining investment needed to bring this exciting project to life.”

Mrs Davis said the new facility would boost Brisbane’s adventure tourism and employment opportunities, while delivering a great deal of fun and fitness.

“The Adventure Hub will deliver a fresh, affordable concept in adventure sports to encourage people of all ages and abilities to ‘find fun in fitness through adventure’.”

Adventure activities will include:

  • Skiing and snowboarding using simulated and freestyle dry slopes
  • Automatic Belay Adventure climbing walls
  • Indoor climbing and bouldering walls
  • Bungee and regular trampolines
  • Ninja and obstacle courses
  • A Lazer tag sports arena

The Hub will also be a ‘one stop shop’ where people can learn in a safe and controlled environment; be trained by qualified instructors and buy your gear, get gear fitted and even book your adventure holiday!

The hub will also feature multi sports simulators; a soft play area for young children; a cafe; an adventure concept store; a holiday shop; and facilities for parties, corporate meetings and events.
