Aussie racing Western States 100 ultra
Andrew Vize of Ultra168, a group of Sydney-based ultra-marathon runners, takes on the big one this weekend – the Western States 100. Held in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, competitors run 161 kilometres across California’s snowcapped peaks and granite-rimmed valleys. Vize recently won the 2011 North Face 100km marathon pairs (with Marcus Warner) and has been preparing himself for the punishing course, which has seen an unprecedented level of snowfall this year.
