Following the success of the Africa 3 Peaks Expedition in 2008, Scottish Adventurer Ricky Munday has announced, that in November 2010, he will lead a two-person team into the remote forests of Papua Province, Indonesian New Guinea, aiming to be the first to safely climb the three highest peaks in Australasia. Munday will be joined by Carol Sparks, a 32-year old British/Canadian citizen, and if successful the pair will tick off the first female ascent of Puncak Mandala and second ascent of its south face. Not content to climb mountains just because they are there, the expedition will support ongoing climate change research by verifying the historical existence and extent of ice caps on the three peaks. Ricky and Carol will also raise funds for disadvantaged youth in the UK and children with cancer in Canada. Three Peaks Expedition
